The Ari Marcopoulos 'Wherever You Are' Series Depicts Everyday Life

Despite consisting of relatively unremarkable subject matter, the Ari Marcopoulos 'Wherever You Are' photo series is composed of a collection of images that are intriguing nonetheless.

On display at the Marlborough Chelsea gallery in New York, the prints are mostly black and white but feature a multitude of after effects which have altered the images in a subtle, yet starkly eye-catching way.

Shot using mainly a 35mm point-and-shoot camera, each image was then blown-up and printed multiple times to create a gritty, weathered look. Some of the images featured are vast in size while others were printed on small shreds of rice paper.

This collection is focused on the mood and instinctual feelings that bubble to the surface when one sees an image of something that is not quite describable.
