Archie Comics is Receiving an All New Re-launch After 75 Years

Comic book publisher Archie Comics has decided after 75 years of its iconic 'Archie' comic book line to reboot the franchise with an all new re-imagining of its classic comic book characters.

The entire Riverdale crew has received a full artistic makeover with the release of 'ARCHIE #1.' iIllustrated by Fiona Staples, the long established style of this comic focused on everyday high school students, including its redheaded protagonist 'Archie Andrews' who has been completely overhauled from its more cartoonish beginnings into a more modern and realistic interpretation.

And it's not only the artwork that's receiving a more mature update. While the typical storylines of past decades were always more about good-natured humor and high school romance, the new issues being written by Mark Waid will deal with heavier themes including the heartbreak that can come along with young love. Fellow classic characters like 'Jughead,' 'Betty' and Veronica' will also be receiving re-booted titles of their very own from Archie Comics in the near future.
