Arcade Fire's New Haiti DVD

Arcade fire still has their good-Samaritan hats firmly in place. The Montreal-based band is making a documentary with Brit photographer Leah Gordon.
The idea: Arcade Fire will play the travelling band across Haiti, while performing shows filming the whole thing.
The subject: rocking out in Haiti with local musicians for a new DVD.
The cause: raise awareness of Haiti’s still overwhelming burdens from 2010’s earthquake.

Arcade Fire, well before winning their 2011 Grammy, was always involved heavily in Haiti’s cause. They pledged to contribute over $1 million dollars to help rebuild the country after January’s earthquake. Arcade Fire’s Regine Chassagne’s parents moved to Canada from Haiti, so their cause inevitably hits close to home.

Since hitting the big time with their Grammy win, it’s nice to see Arcade Fire continues to use their fame and talent to raise awareness of real causes.
