AR Car Windshields

Lincoln Motor Company is Using AR to Make Driving Safer

Lincoln Motor Company is leveraging augmented reality by implementing AR car windshields, to help drivers better communicate with vehicles.

The display shows information relevant to the driver in a manner that's both seamless and unobtrusive, enhancing the safety of the car's passengers, as opposed to being distracting. Some of the information on the screen includes the speed limit or distance from other vehicles. The informative display eliminates the need for a driver to look away from the road, limiting the risk of distracted driving.

The graphics seen on the screen were created to be brighter and sharper than most displays, enabling a driver to clearly see the images, even when wearing polarized sunglasses.
