Google Created The App Defense Alliance to Protect Android Devices

Google launched the App Defense Alliance in order to remove bad Android apps from the Google Play Store. In order to create the App Defense Alliance, Google partnered with several security firms, including ESET, Lookout, and Zimperium. Google's new security initiative will attempt to remove apps before they are downloaded by Android users.

Google is combining the scanning systems form all of the security groups into one overarching system. This allows Google to more extensively scan for malware or other potential security threats. Google indicated that the new security system will use machine learning, as well as static and dynamic analysis to examine apps on the Google Play platform.
