Bacteria-Killing Paints

This Special Decorative Paint Contains Anti-Microbial Properties

Sherwin-Williams has created a special new type of paint that contains anti-microbial properties that are able to help prevent the spread of bacteria.

'Paint Shield' is able to kill 99.9 percent of different bacteria types after they are exposed to the surface of the paint for two hours. The anti-microbial properties of this paint are said to last approximately four years after being applied providing the integrity of the surface has been maintained over time.

The potential for 'Paint Shield' is certainly exciting and it is the perfect decorative touch for a number of settings where the spread of bacteria needs to be controlled -- including hospitals, daycares, schools and other public spaces. The paint will also be available in 590 different colors and will feature an egg-shell finish.
