And you though humans had vile gas? Cattle flatulence has been said to be the cause of 4 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions. German scientists have been researching ways to reduce the harmful gases and have finally come up with a potential solution.
University of Hohenheim scientists have invented a pill that, when used in conjunction with a special diet, could help reduce the abominable emissions. The pill is currently the size of an apple, however, and scientists will need to discover a way to get cows to consume them. Size reduction isn't an option though, as its volume must be large in order to release ingredients slowly and steadily for maximum impact.
The pill breaks down methane in the stomach, benefiting the cattle's metabolism and enabling their bodies to use the gases for glucose production, resulting in more milk.
