Vans and the Pixies Rock Out Shoes

In the next entry of the Vans Band series, Massachusetts alternative rock band The Pixies are featured. Both versions of the shoe feature "Death to the Pixies" artwork of a nude man laying on his side, looking distressed.

There are two models available out of this collaboration including the SK8-HI, a high-top and the Slip-On for lazy folks who don’t like laces. They are available now at particular Vans retailers.

Implications - Over the last few years, Vans sneakers have moved from the footwear of choice for skateboarders and surfer dudes into a basic staple of many closets ala Converse's Chuck Taylors. These Pixies version sneaks are specialty kicks targeted at fans of the bands, and exclusive sneaker collectors. Despite their increasing market dominance, the Vans shoe company is doing a solid job of staying on top of its innovation.
