Crafty Paper Critter Sculptures

These Origami Art Works Focus on Animal Life

These surprisingly detailed origami animals by artist Nguyen Hung Cuong come in a variety of colors and species. This impressive paper artist claims to have been making folded paper creations since he was very little and looking at his work, it’s hard not to believe him.

Among Nguyen Hung Cuong’s origami art works is a shark riding a wave, a rather large gorilla, a lobster tangled up with a snake and a delicate lightly colored butterfly. These impressive paper creations are enough to shame amateurs dabbling in origami. It’s hard to imagine how one takes a simple sheet of paper and transforms it into a magnificently detailed animal sculpture.

The shark figure is my personal favorite. The bright blue wave draws attention and the detail is unbelievable. It takes a creative person to produce something that intricate with only paper at hand.
