Based in Yuma, Arizona, artist Albert F. Montoya creates incredibly detailed animal illustrations that play with his viewer's perception. Reminiscent of tattoo art works or kaleidoscopic album covers, these masterpieces defy convention and depict animal subjects in a vivid and unexpected way.

Albert mastered the art of precise coloring as a child and spent his early days by creating his very own comic strip. Today, the artist has gained critical acclaim for his zombie-inspired illustrations of the Simpsons family as well as for these striking animal illustrations.

The illustrator is a graduate from the Art Institute of Las Vegas with an Interactive Media Design degree and is the co-creator of The Artillerist. He is also "a designer and owner for his web company montoyamedia, and a musician and vocalist for several personal side projects."
