Typeface-Celebrating Art

Angel Alejandro Payed Tribute to Helvetica with a Series of Posters

Angel Alejandro is an art director, graphic designer and digital artist based in Trujillo, Peru. His work has a diverse sense of variation, with past projects including detailed fantasy creations, colorful abstract works and carefully measured and simplistic posters. The latter of these themes is utilized in Angel Alejandro 'HELVETICA TYPOSTER' series.

The mostly monochrome pieces make use of the iconic Helvetica typography, celebrating the popular sans-serif typeface that has been used since the late 1950s. In order to pay tribute, Angel Alejandro features individual letters alone on posters, drawing attention to its dynamic shape and the minimalist ambiance that having it around creates. Other pieces show the typeface clustered onto windows, with a single accent of yellow being the only break from designs of black lettering.
