Junk Press by Andrew Simpson Turns Trash into Treasure

Artist Andrew Simpson has turned what most people look at and throw away into an interesting piece of modern art. His collection is titled 'Junk Press,' and demonstrates how junk mail can be repurposed into more items than just something to be thrown in the trash instantly.

The artist states on DesignBoom how, "the origin of the idea is that, try as we might, it seems impossible junk mail, but the other way to think about the situation is that there is a constant flow of free cellulose coming to peoples homes." Using a specific contraption, Andrew Simpson moulded paper plates out of this trash, which are relatively functional. Even if one did not want to use them for food, they would go well for decoration in the home. Photo Credits: designboom, 19greekstreet
