Amcor launched Amcor Lift-Off — Rigids, a global startup challenge designed to identify and accelerate emerging technologies for rigid packaging and related systems. Run through the company’s Corporate Venturing & Open Innovation team, the program focuses on areas including recyclable barrier solutions, fiber-based packaging, smart packaging technologies and hybrid rigid-flexible formats that support reuse and circularity.
The initiative invites startups with commercially validated technologies to apply for the opportunity to engage directly with Amcor’s research, business and venture investment teams. Focus areas also include injection molding platforms, dispenser and applicator systems, retort and pasteurization technologies, recycling and decontamination processes, and artificial intelligence and machine-learning applications. Selected participants will advance to a virtual pitch event and may be considered for pilot projects, strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.
For startups and packaging stakeholders, the program provides a pathway to scale new technologies through access to global manufacturing expertise, commercial channels and industry resources. The challenge reflects a broader push to accelerate the adoption of circular, high-performance and digitally enabled packaging solutions that address evolving sustainability requirements and consumer expectations.
