A British-based YouTuber recently debuted a DIY all-terrain tank, bringing the do-it-yourself game to the next level. Dubbed the Rhino Tank, the structure is essentially an ATV with the body of a tank. Its creator, Colin Furze, built it out of curiosity and, of course, to test its viability.
For the DIY all-terrain tank, Furze drew inspiration from Elie Aghnides' 1950s concept of the Rhino. Aghnides, an inventor also known for designing a water-conserving aerator for taps, created the Rhino as a one-off schematic intended to be sold to the military. The original silhouette was inspired by a waterfall. For his rendition of the Rhino, Furze used a hydraulic dump truck as the base and added a Cybertruck-like sheet-metal body. While the tank performed well on land, it had issues with inclines and sharp turns.
