Artist Aisha Franz Tells Stories with Simplistic Designs

Berlin born and based artist Aisha Franz has actively cultivated a style that features storytelling with less.

Aisha Franz, a graduate of the Visual Communication and School of Art and Design in Kassel, Germany, specialized in illustration and graphic storytelling. Since her graduation, she has worked as a freelance graphic illustrator and comic artist.

Aisha Franz's work often tells basic but comedic stories that frequently feature children as their protagonists. Selected images from her portfolio showcase a grade-school aged girl who is so enthralled with her chewing gum and blowing bubbles, that she neglects to take note of the wall in front of her. The gum she's chewing bounces off the wall and soon envelopes her entire head. Other images show a hungry tiger watching an episode of classic sitcom, Roseanne, when his hunger begins to take over. He walks over to the fridge only to find that all it contains is a Coke and a half-eaten apple.

The humor in Aisha Franz' artwork is simplistic but effective. As a result, there is an innate hilarity in her work.
