The Seahorse is a pedal-powered airboat, invented by Russell Randall, that allows users to mount a bicycle on its deck. Pedaling on the bike turns the boat's air propeller, pushing the boat forward.
Moreover, not only is the Seahorse faster than conventionally paddled canoes or kayaks, it can also move backwards easily -- all you have to do is reverse the propeller's pitch using a handlebar. You can even install a sail and use it as a regular cataraman minus the bike component.
The Seahorse is available in two versions. The 4.3-meter 25-pound polyethylene model goes for $4,400 fully loaded. The 5.5-meter version is constructed out of fiberglass and goes for $4,400 with just an air prop or $4,900 with air and water props. $7,000 will land you a carbon fiber 18-foot version.
