Ai Weiwei’s Work is Located in Stockholm, in Front of a Gallery

Just outside of the Nationalmuseum gallery in Stockholm, celebrated Chinese artist Ai Weiwei's work captures the eye of passersby. Taking on the form of a cage-like arch, the structure measures 12 meters in height. The artist used polished steel for this installation. The silhouette of two intertwined human figures is cut out in the center of the structure. Naturally, this motif is a symbol of love and acceptance. According to Brilliant Minds, the creative foundation that organized the installation of Ai Weiwei's work, the human figures represent "free passage of all populations, and [appeal] for a world without borders."

Ai Weiwei's steel arch installation will remain in front of the Nationalmuseum gallery for a year. Afterward, it will be moved to a yet undisclosed location.
