Mini Health Center Chains

Access Afya is a Social Enterprise with Small, High-Tech Care Sites

Based in Kenya, Access Afya is a social enterprise comprised of a number of small health care centers that are committed to quality service. "We are creating a network of high-tech health centers that provide consultations, information, on-site diagnostics, and authentic medication," they write on their website.

The clinics are meant to each be self-sustaining because whenever a client comes through to visit a health worker, they pay a small fee. Recently, Kristie Wang of Ashoka Changemakers wrote a piece on Business Fights poverty on the innovation called "Health Kiosks for Kenya Slums - Taking Community Healthcare to Scale."
