These Accelerate sofa and chair design concepts by Danish designer Phillip Grass are incredibly sleek and futuristic.
Seemingly inspired by aeronautics, the ‘fly’ design features jet engine-shaped armrests.
"My design is futuristic with a sense of acceleration and speed; organic with seamless flowing forms," says Grass. "Simple, well-balanced and peaceful, while simultaneously creating a sense of awe."
As for his everyday source of inspiration, Grass explains, "I find inspiration in vehicles such as cars, aeroplanes and spaceships; in the structure of bones and in the fluid forms of fish."
Right now, Accelerate is a digital prototype. Grass has a planned execution of a polyester resin structure upholstered with polyurethane foam and white leather for these designs.
