This Abstract Residence is Meant to Accommodate Different Living Functions

This inspiring abstract residence is unique because it has such an unusual structure in which the architects stack three layers on top of each other to accommodate different living functionality.

Located in Austria overlooking the breathtaking Alps, this abstract residence was designed and executed by Frohring Ablinger Architekten to meet a very specific need for the homeowners. The owners wanted a space that was divided into distinct areas for different functions like sleeping, living and leisure.

The overall design of the house is clean, fresh and minimal, which works perfectly with its tranquil location.

"Rooms have different orientations. Each floor receives its own ideal orientation in accordance to his functions. This results in staggered parts, whose projections and recesses can be used as a protected outdoor spaces," says the design team.
