Concrete Framed Residences

Apollo Architects Designed a Cost-Efficient Concrete Home

Apollo Architects & Associates designed the 'Frame House,' a concrete home supported by concrete and fiber-reinforced plastic frames. The decision was more cost-effective for the architects, who were on a strict budget.

The home's facade, which boasts a geometric aesthetic, wraps around to line the edge of the roof, ultimately creating an L-shaped frame. Underneath, a timber-lined living room lies suspended. Beneath the hanging living room is an external area that functions as a garage. A photography darkroom and master bedroom are also situated on this level.

Both spaces feature a teak ceiling, creating a unity between the external itauba frames. The bare concrete walls offer a form of contrast. The architects note, "Water-resistant itauba wood is used for the walls and the back of the eaves as decoration, resulting in a perfect contrast of wood and concrete."
