Artisans de Genève Takes Years to Make the 6240 Tropical Watch

Artisans de Genève is an expert at modifying watches and its latest 6240 Tropical timepiece is re-created to honor the iconic Rolex Daytona 6240. The original Daytona 6240 watch featured a 'Tropical' patina that comes into sight after years of wearing it.

Artisans de Genève took years to develop the same visual effect -- the formulation process was comprised of an oxidation method that could finally produce the even amber patina. In order to achieve the look, the talented craftsman sent the timepiece's dial to the Bahamas to carefully mature in the tropical weather. To elevate the luxury experience even further, the buyers are able to choose between two tones of the dial -- this features two aging periods. Five weeks of aging results in a dark patina and seven weeks results in an amber finish.
