This 3D-printed robotic arm was developed by grad students in response to a lack of sign language translators. Antwerp's Sign Language Actuating Node (or Project Aslan) is a humanoid robot created by a team of University of Antwerp engineering students and sponsored by the European Institute for Otorhinolaryngology.
Currently in its first iteration, the robot consists of a hand and forearm that is capable of basic sign language to address a shortage of sign language interpreters worldwide.
