Affordable 3D-Printed Villages

New Story is Creating the World's First 3D-Printed Community

San Francisco-based design firm Fuseproject, New Story and ICON will soon be introducing the world to the world's first 3D-printed community, which is set to offer affordable housing for 50 farmers and weavers in Latin America who live on less than $200 monthly. Thanks to the building technology available, of the 3D-printed homes will be quickly constructed and uniquely finished with textured walls that show off the way the structures are created, layer by layer. Occupants will be able to specify whether they'd like a two- or three-bedroom plan and the exterior concrete can be tinted to create a home that's truly their own.

The exact location of the project has yet to be revealed but the small village is set to be printed within the next few weeks and details will be shared after the 3D-printed community has been constructed.
