So far the revolutionary device has managed to print cartilage structures, an ear, jaw bone and muscle tissue. According to the Wake Forest team, this 3D bio-printer functions much like the usual 3D printer. However, instead of using metals, plastics and resins, bio-printers use special bio-materials that closely approximate functional, living tissue.
