Hyundai's 1975 Pony is Transformed With an EV Powertrain

Hyundai's first-generation 1975 Pony has undergone some modern modifications. Hyundai brings back its original 1975 Pony design with an added electric transformation to celebrate its heritage and forward-thinking ambitions. The futuristic retro vehicle now features an electrical vehicle (EV) powertrain. Along with its electrical update, the one-off design concept also includes modern headlights, taillights, and a nixie-tubed instrumentation interior, that recalls the 1975 spirit.

Hak Soo Ha is the chief designer of the concept car, who announced its completion via Instagram. A deconstruction of the car led to removing the Pony's original combustion engine, which has been replaced with an unspecified electric powertrain. The futuristic concept will be on display at the Hyundai motor studio in Busan, Korea, until June 27, 2021.Photo Credits: designboom, hyundaicanada
