Mass Panda Installations (UPDATE)

'1,600 Pandas' by Paulo Grangeon Raises Awareness in Hong Kong

'1,600 Pandas' is an installation that's taken place all over the world, including Paris, Taipei and Rome, and now the movement has transitioned to Hong Kong.

The installation is done with a collaboration of different artists and organizations in order to raise awareness about the increased loss of pandas in the past year. To avoid this species becoming distinct, Paulo Grangeon, 'AllRightsReserved,' WWF and PMQ have all worked together on this design, and hope that the installation will help people understand the potential crisis at hand. Sixteen thousand was the number used since that's the approximate number of just how many pandas are thought to be left in the world. Considering there were millions at one point, this is a significant drop. Photo Credits: designboom, allrights-reserved
