The Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 Ads Star Raquel Zimmermann

There is a coolness about the Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 ad campaign that can only be achieved by city chic individuals. Although clearly elegant and sophisticated, each look has an edginess that only those in urban surroundings would experiment with -- albeit on a larger scale, of course. As if to solidify this notion, the campaign uses a typical New York City backdrop.

Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, there is also a masculinity in each of the Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 print ads, even the ones that are going for a more feminine, glamorous look. This is achieved not only through the use of collared shirts and androgynous prints, but also through Raquel Zimmermann's short hairdo.
