Floating Decomposing Tables

Junpei Tamaki Designs the Yuragi Tables for Ligne Roset

Designer Junpei Tamaki created the 'Yuragi' table collection for French design studio Ligne Roset. The design concept that Tamaki adopted was to evoke a sense that the tables were floating on water and slowly sinking into the depths of the ocean. The collection is designed to imitate the different levels on decomposition, showcased through the structures and color change as it goes through deeper water and encounters less light.

The Yuragi table series is comprised of three tables in total. A notable design variance is the different table lengths that give the capsule an uneven look, showing off the different levels of depth. The design also references beach huts, capturing the elegance in its simple form through the light features of the table top surfaces.
