Photographer Yume Cyan Captures a Spectacular Seasonal Sight

The people that dismiss Yume Cyan's illuminating captures as random strings of outdoor lights will be sorely missing out. Instead, the numerous glowing orbs are fire flies that have been captured through the technique of long exposure. As though they were countless of Tinkerbells searching for Peter Pan in a deep and dark forest, Yume Cyan captures the spectacular sight for those who haven't had the opportunity to witness it themselves.

The glowing gathering occurs every year in the forested area around Nagoya City, Japan. Yume Cyan ventured there last month during the beginning of the rainy season to photograph the wild frenzy of gold fireflies as they mate after thunderstorms. The bioluminescent flash of each insect results in dotted light trails that criss-cross the frame.
