Young Sun Han’s ‘24 Hour Embrace’ is an art performance that explores one of the most common expressions of physical intimacy: a hug. Young Sun Han advertised his project on Craigslist and finally selected 64-year-old Jerry Heller as his companion.
From midnight on December 30, 2008 until midnight on January 1, 2009, Heller and Han hugged. After the twelfth hour of Young Sun Han’s ‘24 Hour Embrace,’ participants were permitted to join in on the fun.
According to Juxtapoz, Jerry Heller found that Young Sun Han’s ‘24 Hour Embrace’ project opened up an internal dialogue about sexuality and father-son relationships.
