Hand-Cut Paper Portraits

Artist Yoo Hyun Uses an X-Acto Knife & Tweezers to Create Delicate Images

Korean artist Yoo Hyun has created a collection of handcrafted paper portraits. Each portrait pays a tribute to a celebrity or an iconic character such Marilyn Monroe, Justin Timberlake and Bob Marley.

Each image is crafted through the use of an X-Acto knife and tweezers. The artist begins by cutting out thin sections of a large piece of paper. Each line is cut on an angle and then incorporates a zigzag pattern to create the illusion of a three-dimensional image. Finished products have see-through spaces, allowing the images to utilize different background settings.

The paper portraits are depictions of famous people that look stunningly identical to real people. Yoo Hyun displays and presents the artwork on various social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
