2020 is just around the corner and Krispy Kreme Japan wants to celebrate the Year of the Rat with a special treat.
According to a press release from Krispy Kreme Japan, the chain has created a Year of the Rat-themed donut to mark the new year and the Chinese zodiac. The donut is cheese-themed with a rich cream cheese filling and a bright yellow icing on top. The donut is also topped with a whipped topping mouse with chocolate ears and a tiny piece of cheese in its hands. The result is a donut that looks like a piece of cheese that a little rat has gnawed its way through and popped out the top.
The donuts are hand-decorated in stores and will be available Thursday through mid-January.
