China Post is Sharing a Year of the Dog Stamp, Envelopes & Drawings

To help people celebrate 2018 as the Chinese Year of the Dog, China Post is releasing Year of the Dog stamp designs nationwide. The stamps feature designs by Zhou Lingzhao, the artist who also created the Year of the Dog stamps that were issued in 1982. China Post's Year of the Dog stamps include two variations: a proud male Husky that represents prosperity and protection, as well as a female brown Shiba Inu and her pup, which symbolizes family and parental love.

Since China Post overprinted the Year of the Rooster stamps in 2017, resulting in a drop in prices and stagnated sales, the Year of the Dog collector's stamps are poised to be in high demand.

As well as releasing these collectible stamps for the arrival of the 2018 Chinese New Year calendar, China Post is also launching collectible albums, red envelopes in gold and silver leaf etched with the patterns found on the stamps, plus drawings and photos of dogs beloved in Chinese cultural traditions.
