YakiYan is an Asian Restaurant Chain That's Being Introduced to the US

YakiYan is a Taiwanese restaurant chain that first opened in Taipei City in 2004 and thrived for the focus it put on serving traditional Japanese BBQ dishes. Now, the Panda Restaurant Group (best known for its Panda Express chain) is bringing the high-end Japanese barbecue chain overseas to the United States.

A typical dining experience at YakiYan lasts about two hours, in which several courses are served. Rather than choosing their own cuts of meat to be prepared (in the style of a Korean barbecue restaurant), diners at YakiYan are treated to an "omakase" experience, in which they are served from a curated chef's menu.

While eating cuts of meat, patrons are able to receive extremely detailed information from their servers on the origin, expected taste profiles and breed.
