Y Lan 'Sand Paintings' are Beyond Detailed

Tran Thi Hoang Lan, also known as Y Lan, is known for her incredibly intricate 'Sand Paintings.' Each portrait she creates is made entirely out of thousands of grains of sand. She is becoming more known around the world for her amazingly detailed work.

According to Oddity Central, she discovered this peculiar talent when she was on vacation collecting different colors of sand. Not knowing what to do with it when she returned, she decided to try her hand at these portraits.

The paintings are so complex that you would never think they could be created using only sand, and natural colors of sand at that. Lan says that if even one piece is out of place, it could ruin the entire thing.
