Mobile Work Pods

'WorkonWheels' Uses Autonomous Driving for Workspace Pods

Imagine waking up in the morning to an office that came to you instead of commuting to get there. IDEO's autonomous WorkonWheels (WOW) pods could drastically change the traditional workplace and commute. WorkOnWheels is a vehicle as well as moveable workspace that reveals the future potential of autonomous mobility.

The pod is designed to be fairly small (18ft x 9ft x 7ft), but highly collaborative and open to enhancing the workplace environment. The interior is designed like an office with a digitally interactive table and chairs, with the added ability to travel to different locations to increase productivity.

WorkonWheels allows employees a greater range of where to live, as commutes may be "invertible," where work comes to the worker instead of traveling to a workplace. From a business perspective, WorkonWheels gives access to a greater range of customers, as a mobile workplace would provide added mobility for employees to easily commute from one place to another to promote products and/or services.
