This marvelously sleek and cozy wooden dwelling is located in Durham — a town in the northern part of North Carolina. For the exterior of the home, US design firm Smitharc Architects used cypress to connect the elongated structure to the surrounding environment. The facade is elegantly broken up by black-bordered windows which add a nice contemporary element to the wooden dwelling.
The house is curiously bent, forming an almost L-shaped-like layout. Thanks to the stretched design, the home boasts a spacious interior that is adorned with contemporary hits throughout. Smitharc Architects' clients are a large family, hence the dynamic space is of importance. Moreover, the elongated silhouette of the wooden dwelling "captures expansive views" as well which ultimately adds to the charm of the house.
