H&M Releases a Metaverse-Inspired Collection at Its Williamsburg Store

The ‘H&M Innovation Metaverse Design Story,’ a line inspired by virtual reality, was unveiled by H&M on Friday in its H&M Williamsburg location. The physical collection includes various pieces, including a neon-yellow dress, a beaded black bomber jacket, metallic shoes, and futuristic jewelry, all of which were inspired by the idea of the metaverse. The business stated it focused on circularity and that some goods are created with recycled polyester fibers acquired from its in-store clothing collection program.

As many brands shift to include the metaverse in their upcoming releases, H&M hones in on the circular aspect of production in order to continue its efforts in sustainability.

"The increasingly virtual dimension of fashion creates exciting future opportunities for H&M, allowing us to create vibrant, bold and daring virtual counterparts to our physical collections. In addition to the endless creative possibilities, it also allows us to propose a more sustainable and inclusive fashion vision that can be accessed by anyone, anywhere in the world," Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative adviser at H&M, said in a statement.
