The Toronto Public Library is Offering Affordable Low-Income WiFi for Rent

In an effort to render Internet connectivity more accessible to a larger demographic, the Toronto Public Library is offering loanable WiFi hotspots on short term monthly commitment basis for consumers looking for a more cost effective alternative. The Wi-Fi will be available in low-income residential areas to help offer Internet to consumers that would otherwise be unable to afford it. The program is designed to foster a community with access to education and online learning.

The initiative is put together by six Toronto Library Branches that offer loaned out WiFi access of ten gigabytes per month. This will allow consumers to forego the barrier of costs and access the Internet for things like education, wellness and even job search.
