'Widescape' Launched its First Winter Motorsports Machine in Quebec

'Widescape' is a Quebec-based startup in the winter motorsports industry led by a father and son team. Its first product, the 'Widescape Snowmobile' is a high-performance machine that appears like a dirtbike with treads instead of wheels. This machine is meant to be used while standing, which is the first-ever snowmobile to be designed in this fashion.

The Widescape has a 242cc, 20 horsepower engine that delivers excellent fuel efficiency at a light weight. The snowmobile itself weighs less than 200 pounds and makes very little noise. On top of this, the treads on the Widescape are more narrow than snowshoes, meaning the machine is fit for a wide range of snow-covered mountain exploration.

This snowmobile has an MSRP of $8,149 CAD, or approximately $6,411 USD, and is expected to release later this year with no confirmed date.
