Photographer Theron Humphrey created a touching photo series called 'Why We Rescue,' which depicts photos of new pet owners who have adopted from the animal shelter.
This project is aimed to show how adopting a pet can change both your life and your pet's life. This project got a little help from pet food supplier Purina One, and showcases stories of happy adopted animals from across 50 states.
These photos are touching and heartwarming, and include smiling faces of young girls to urban home owners and retired citizens embracing and loving their adopted pets.
This project is aimed to bring awareness to shelter life; a lot of people refrain from adopting shelter animals because they think that sheltered animals have behavioral problems, and aren't fit for adoption. This project shows that sheltered animals can be faithful and loving companions.
