“The Wheel of Time” Novels to Be Adapted Into Book and Film Form

The eleven "The Wheel of Time" novels have sold more than 44 million copies, making them some of the most beloved sci-fi/fantasy books of the modern era. Now fans of "The Wheel of Time" comic books and graphic novels have reason to rejoice:

Before his death, author Robert Jordan closely worked with the Dabel Brothers while they created graphic adaptations of his best selling "The Wheel of Time" series. This resulted in the comic book adaptation of "New Spring," the New York Times best-selling prequel to "The Wheel of Time" series.

Now the series is set to continue as the Dabel Brothers, working with Robert Jordan’s estate, create the new series. They will be published initially as comics, then collected and published as graphic novel collections by the renowned Tor Books.

Universal Pictures purchased the movie rights to "The Wheel of Time" sometime in August 2008, and "The Eye of the World" is currently in pre-production as the first movie of the series.
