German Designer Introduces an Eye-Catching Textile Furniture Series

LONDON, a new textile furniture series that features weightless clothing storage, changes the way we normally store our clothes. While frequently used storage facilities are often composed of heavy and thick-walled materials, German designer Meike Harde created the innovative collection by stretching different fabrics over metal frames. Included in the collection is a pleated violet cabinet (middle), crafted from organic molton. This piece features a sliding door, with rubber bands in the interior. The bands stretch when the furniture is closed and contract when it is opened. This can be used to store folded clothes, and a mirror can easily be installed on the top portion of the cabinet. The series also features a stool, lightweight wardrobe, and holder which resembles a bag.
The collection offers an attractive array of pastel-coloured storage units, the fabric also protects clothes. What’s more, the units are lightweight and easily transportable, a feature that will likely turn them into a household staple. Photo Credits: meikeharde, designboom
