Weight Tracker by Weiche Wu Translates Poundage into Art

The Weight Tracker isn't what it sounds like--at least to health nuts and those trying to lost those extra pounds around the belly. Like a traditional scale, it might measure a person's physical weight, but unlike one, it converts it into wall art. The Weight Tracker takes something that often inspires anxiety and self-loathing and turns it into a beautiful artistic endeavor.

Created by Taiwan-born, London-based designer Weiche Wu, the Weight Tracker interprets weight fluctuations over time as simple arcs drawn onto a sheet of paper. Couple with his Height Recorder, the Weight Tracker is a translator of "of daily life, working between 'the body’ and 'memory,'" according to the artist. "Both translate involuntary memory, which has been kept by the body, into accessible data that can be read by the audience."
