Researchers at Tsumaki Telerobotics Laboratory at Yamagata University in Japan have created a wearable robot. The robot is meant to assist elderly and disabled people and is currently still in an experimental stage.
The wearable robot essentially allows for a robotic camera attachment that will go wherever the wearer does. A wireless control, located at a stationary computer, can view the movements and landscape and assist the wearer. While the wearable robot’s main function will be as an extra set of eyes, it also has limited limb functions such as waving its arms.
