Web-Based Fantasy Journeys

'Find Your Way to Oz' Takes Users on a Chrome-Enhanced Interactive Trip

Google and Disney have joined forces for a bit of interactive cross promotion with the 'Find Your Way to Oz' interactive journey website.

'Find Your Way to Oz' is is trip through the carnival scenes that will appear in the upcoming 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' film. Visitors can compose music, play around in a photo booth and make movies with a zoetrope.

Visitors to the website are prompted to download Google Chrome before they can go on a tour of the magical land of Oz, as the website is optimized for modern graphical design techniques and languages such as WebGL and CSS3. In other words, the graphics are super spiffy and immersive in a way that most web browsers can't keep up with. I was able to get the website to work through Firefox, but according to blogs around the web, it does run faster and more smoothly when using Chrome.
