Water Transport Mumbai 2025 Swaps the City's Buses for Boats

Designer Ajinkya Yadav's Water Transport Mumbai 2025 is a new form of public transportation for India's largest city. Yadav noticed that the public transportation system in Mumbai was in need of a serious overhaul. Rather than trying to take on the impossible task of updating the system, Yadav designed a new one.

Mumbai is bordered on three sides by water, making it the prime city for a water bus service. Water Transport Mumbai 2025 is serviced by catamaran-style water buses designed to ferry people around the city's shores. The boats are designed to hold 150 plus and are partially powered by rooftop solar panels. Urban areas are going to continue to grow around the world as the years go by. Designers need to think like Ajinkya Yadav and start solving the problems that will inevitably be created by massive population growth.
