Wall Projection Televisions

The 'Philips AmbiLux TV' Extends Your TV Onto the Wall

Phillips has developed a television that is capable of wall projection. Unlike a movie theater screen, the 'AmbiLux' will use the surrounding wall to further enhance the images on the television screen through colors.

The AmbiLux has a sizable 65-inch screen and houses nine pico projectors on the back of the TV. These projectors make it possible to bring the action out of your TV and onto the wall behind it. Although the projectors cannot utilize the entire wall, an illusion will be made where images are extended, creating an extremely immersive visual experience.

The wall projection capabilities however are not meant to expand the size of the screen. Instead it creates an illuminated, watercolor display behind the TV, which reflects and complements the action on the screen.
