Walki Expands Its Recyclable Packaging to Include WalkiEVO Seal

Consumer packaging manufacturer Walki has announced that it will be expanding its portfolio of recyclable packaging solutions. According to the company, the decision comes as a result of the increasing demand for frozen food, which is expected to grow by $322 billion before 2026.

The new products Walki plans to introduce utilize printed materials that are tough enough to suit the needs of frozen food packaging, while also being 100% recyclable in the paper stream. Specifc materials inlcude the WalkiEVO Seal, which is an eco-friendly solution for pillow-ouches fgor frozen foods.

"The dispersion coating makes WalkiEVO Seal recyclable in the waste-paper stream without any separation process, while the minimized PE-coating on WalkiOpti Seal makes it suitable to be recycled with paper with an acceptable fibre yield," said Andreas Rothschink, the Head of Product Development at Walki.
